The 2023 Fall Ball Season begins in September runs through November.

FALL BALL INFORMATION

Fall Ball Information

The Fall Ball session is a great time of year for players to develop new baseball skills in a less competitive environment than spring seasons. Often during Fall players get to try new positions that they might not have experienced during a spring season. With no tryouts, no standings, no playoffs and reduced practice, the Fall Season affords the opportunity for our coaches to really focus on strengthening each players individual abilities. It is also a great time of year for new players to experience baseball for the first time. Feel free to invite new players to join as all players between 4-12 are invited (players are not required to have played in spring to participate in Fall).

Fall Ball runs on Sundays from September thru early November.

The times below vary by division:
Shetland Game/Clinic 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Pinto, Mustang, and Bronco Games/Clinic are two hours and begin at 1 PM - If we have enough players in the Pinto, Mustang, and/or Bronco divisions to field four teams there will be two games played each Sunday with your start time being 1 PM or 3 PM. Games will last approximately two hours. Teams are typically composed of 9-10 players.

Game/Clinic Structure
Fall Ball is instructionally based as we want players to gain practice and experience. At times, coaches will be out on the field during the game to assist players with positioning and making decisions.

Ages for each division are based on the Spring 2024 PONY Age Chart.

Shetland Division
Each week the coaches will spend a portion of the hour working on skills (catching, throwing, hitting), and then a simulated coach pitch game towards the end of the clinic.

Pinto Division
The first hour will be spent coaching the players on their skills of (catching, throwing, hitting), and then a 2-3 inning coach pitch game for the second hour of the clinic. Each half inning of the game has a maximum of four runs allowed to keep the game moving. As we progress through the fall ball season, kid pitch will be incorporated into the games towards the later weeks (approximately weeks 5-8).

Mustang Division
The first hour will be spent coaching the players on their skills of (catching, throwing, hitting), and then a 2-3 inning machine pitch game for the second hour of the clinic. Each inning of the game has a maximum of four runs allowed to keep the game moving. As we progress through the fall ball season, kid pitch will be incorporated into the games towards the later weeks (approximately weeks 5-8).

Bronco Division
The game will be exclusively kid pitch, but each half inning has a maximum of five runs allowed to keep the game moving.

Are there practices?
There are no mandatory practices. Coaches may choose to schedule voluntary weekday practices for players to get extra hitting in the batting cages or bullpen work for pitchers/catches. Again, if these occur they are completely voluntary. It is truly a "show and go" type model for the fall on Sundays.

Can you play up or down during fall ball?
Yes, we are flexible during the fall with players wanting to play up or down a division based on their ability to gain experience. Please register for the division you are allowed in the system, and send us an email at [email protected] with the division change you are requesting for fall ball.

Can you request teammates during fall ball?
Yes, we are flexible with players wanting to play together during fall ball. We do try to balance the teams to keep the games competitive, but we do our best to accommodate these requests during fall ball.

Are coaches needed during fall ball?
Yes, we can always use coaches. Fall ball is also a great time for new coaches to get involved. If you are interested in coaching, please let us know when you register or send us an email at [email protected].
